You can make a difference.   People with physical, hearing, vision, and learning disabilities still face barriers to communal worship; yeshivas; Torah learning events and internet videos; as well as to stores, restaurants, and event halls.   Those who are autistic are still misunderstood and not properly accommodated and people with mental health conditions are still stigmatized.

The YadEmpowers Alliance was launched by Yad HaChazakah-JDEC on June 11, 2017.  The YadEmpowers Alliance is a collective body of individuals in Jewish communities who work towards advancing access for and participation by people with disabilities in Jewish community life. We work, within Torah-observant parameters, on eliminating barriers to built environments, print and electronic media, oral communication, social acceptance, program participation and marriage.

You are invited to be part of a nationwide, and perhaps worldwide, team to gradually increase access to and participation in Jewish community life, Torah learning, and marriage.

To find out more, please contact Mr. Yisroel Lacks at 646-723-3955 or email Access@YadEmpowers.org.  You may also let us know your interests and how you may be involved by filling out our survey.  Click here to complete the survey.  If you have difficulty accessing the survey, please contact us.

We look forward to you being on the YadEmpowers Alliance Team!

      Hi Faye,

Great time to ask. We are currently planning what we want to achieve in the next year regarding the YadEmpowers Alliance and what we’re going to ask participants to do per their interests and abilities. If you have not done so yet, we encourage you to fill out the YadEmpowers Alliance survey form. Click here.
