On Feb. 15th the State Department of Health announced that the implementation of “mandatory managed long term care” will be delayed at least three months, from April 1, 2012 to July 1, 2012.  The reason is that this major change has not yet been approved by the federal Medicaid agency, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, CMS.  A further delay is still possible if required for CMS approval or to develop the many components of this new system.

The new timetable, with implementation starting in Manhattan and then other boroughs in New York City for current home attendant (personal care) recipients,  is shown in this PowerPoint by the State.
